Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian, filed a suit for unspecified damages, attorney fees and profits from the sale of the revealing tape in L.A. Superior Court. Well, it’s official, Nicole Richie was charged by the DA with being under the influence of “an alcoholic beverage or drugs” on December 11, 2006. Nicole was pulled over in December for going the wrong way on the 134 Freeway in Burbank. When she was arrested, Nicole never mentioned drinking any booze but admitted she had smoked pot and popped some Vicodin. On February 21, Nicole Camille Richie will be arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court for misdemeanor driving under the influence.

The best part of all this for Nicole is that she was able to continue driving (maybe not so cool for all the other drivers in California) because there was no evidence she was consuming alcohol. In fact, the daughter of Lionel Richie and her gal pal Mischa Barton were spotted in last weekend with Nicole behind the wheel of a Mercedes G-Wagon. If Nicole had been under the influence of alcohol back in December, it was highly likely her license would have been suspended before trial. But, hey, she was only smoking weed illegally and taking a controlled substance, so what’s the big deal?! After all, if she had been doing shots she may have actually collided into other cars as she barreled down the freeway the wrong way.
