Paxico Burress, wide receiver for the New York Giants, apparently shot himself in the leg at a New York City club this weekend. Word says Burress might face felony gun charges and a teammate may also be charged for trying to cover the incident up.

Seems Burress was turned away from the Latin Quarter nightclub for having a gun. He returned with loads of cash, flashing jewelry, and management decided to let him in. The Daily News claims Burress was taken to the VIP area when the gun started slipping down his pants leg. Burress is said to have fumbled with the gun and it went off. From there, Burress asked Antonio Pierce not to call 911 but to help him out of the club and get rid of the gun in Jersey. Meanwhile, co-owner John Mara is staying quiet about it all.

The Giants issued statement about the club incident: “We are aware of the fact that Plaxico was involved in an apparent accidental shooting last night. We have been in contact with Plaxico since shortly after the incident. Plaxico suffered a wound to his right thigh. Obviously, our primary concern is for Plaxico’s health and well-being, and given the circumstances, we are relieved to say he was released from a New York City hospital at approximately 2 p.m. today. We have been in touch with NFL Security on this matter. At this point, we are attempting to gather all the facts surrounding this incident. This incident could become a matter for law enforcement officials, and because of that, we have no comment on any of the details.”

Last week another pregger of Hollywood gave birth - Ashlee Simpson. While she was delivering her son Bronx Mowgli, Ashlee Simpson had another baby to worry about - hubby Pete Wentz. The bassist for Fall Out Boy apparently got quite anxious before his wife had the baby. Wentz admitted his wife was a saint to Ryan Seacrest, saying, “”Right before she went into labor, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I think I’m having a heart attack!’ My heart started beating really fast. You see your wife in all this pain, and you really don’t know what’s happening. [Ashlee] took care of me and made sure I was okay and then we went into labor.”

Isn’t Pete supposed to be there for Ashlee? We wonder what would happen if he had to push the puppy out himself. Anyway, Pete goes on to say about Ashlee, “She’s an amazing girl. She was like, ‘I will make sure you’re OK.’ I didn’t even stop to think, ‘Well, you just had an epidural and you’re about to have a baby!’”

Ashlee and Pete got married in May. Son Bronx Mowgli was born (no thanks to Pete other than his initial involvement) on November 20, making Jessica Simpson an aunt.

We all love watching Hollywood romance and it always looks so much better than our own lives – until the major breakup occurs. Who can forget the custody battle and insanity when Britney Spears and K-Fed divorced? In fact, only recently Britney seemed to realize what a bad K-Fed was on the boys when one of sons started to develop potty mouth. Amy Winehouse is done with Blake and despite all her proclamations of true love 17 months ago, now says they only got together for the sex (didn’t know you had to get married for that).

Anyhow, another breakup we’ve all watched closely is Madonna and Guy Ritchie. After Madonna and Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees were accused of cheating, A-Rod’s wife filed for an immediate divorce. Guy and Madonna made statements they would stay together but we all knew they were lies. Now Madonna and Guy have made a final split, which seems to be costing the Material Girl quite a bit. Madge must have been eager to move on and it seems she already has – with, of course, A-Rod. Madonna and A-Rod were spotted getting out of a private jet in Miami this week then the two drove away together in A-Rod’s Maybach. Although they deny being a hot item, seems there are more lies being told in Hollywood…

Did Britney Spears get herself in trouble again? Brit faced a minor mishap as she caught a plane out of LAX with daddy Jamie. Before Britney got to the gate, her Escalade received a ticket from parking enforcement thanks to her driver dropping it in a no parking zone. Regardless of the parking problem, Britney left for Germany to promote her new album – of course under the supervision of father Jamie.

Although Britney has gotten in her share of trouble, she has to behave herself with daddy on the watch. In fact, as Brit continues to deal with the restraints of conservatorship she says, “I feel like an old person now. I don’t go out or anything.” Now that Britney is living the quiet life, she seems to suddenly realize Kevin Federline is corrupting the boys. (Wonder if she thought he’d be a good influence?) Anyway, Britney talked to Rolling Stone about K-Fed and she observed, “The kids are starting to learn words like ’stupid’ and Preston says the F-word now sometimes. He must get it from his daddy.” Britney will be really busy touring Germany and trying to clean up Preston’s potty mouth. Do you think she’ll wind up with custody instead of K-Fed in the longterm – and what will he do for money if he can’t ride on Britney’s support train?

It’s no surprise to hear about another marriage ending in Hollywood. The latest failed marriage was doomed from the start according to many. According to News of the World, Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil are history.

Yes, after Blake spending time in jail and Amy hanging out in rehab there was little left of their relationship. Winehouse said, “It’s over. It was never going to last. We were only together for sex. I fancied him like mad, like no one else I’ve ever known. But it’s not enough, is it?”

While it’s tough for any couple to stay together when one person is in jail and the other is in rehab, seems there was more even more going on behind the scenes. Apparently Blake is already with another woman. Word on the street says Amy’s ex moved in with Sophie Schandorff, a German model. Rumor also says Amy and Blake frequently engaged in threesomes. Was Sophie ever involved or did Blake bang that one on his own? Either way, the 17 month marriage betwen these two popwrecks definitely appears to be over…

Love for Paris didn’t last long. For nine months, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden seemed to be inseparable but now that seems to be far from the truth. The two have split up and according to a source talking to People mag, “They’re just too different and they wanted different things in life.” Word on the street says Paris indicated the duo were just “on a break”. Wonder if that’s why Paris was seen with her ex at the Belvedere Vodka party at LIV nightclub in Miami?

That’s right, Paris was spotted getting close to ex Stavros Niarchos, the Greek shipping heir from back in 2005. Paris claims the pics of her and Stavros had nothing to do with the breakup with Benji. In fact, another source spoke to Us and stated, “Benji was overprotective and controlling.” Did he have a reason to be, since Paris was seen canoodling with her former lover? Or does Paris consider that controlling?

Anyway, everything is still quite civil between Paris and Benji despite the hot pics of her partying with Stavros. Paris even did an interview with KIIS-FM and promoted Benji’s upcoming CD. Think they’ll just be friends with benefits from now on?

Remember when scandal reached educational television? It was only a couple of short weeks ago. Jason Chambers, host of “Human Weapon” on the History channel was arrested on November 11 for allegedly raping somebody in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old Chambers also starred in several soaps before his gig on the History Channel. Cops arrested the experienced martial artist on suspicion of sexual assault and drug charges. At the time the cops thought he might have used intoxicants to rape the purported victim. Chambers posted $200,000 bail after his arrest to get out and was due back in court on December 5.

Now is seems the case against Chambers was rejected by the L.A. County District Attorney. Apparently the case was rejected by the D.A. Because they say there was “insufficient evidence”. Adam Zolonz, attorney for Chambers, told TMZ, “After taking the matter under submission, the DA’s office found the lack of corroboration, delay in reporting, and the numerous defenses presented…to warrant a rejection of the complaint’s ludicrous contentions.” Guess Chambers will be free and clear for the holidays. Seems this History Channel host really has something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving…

Much like many other Hollywood celebrities, a call girl might be making the big time. Remember Ashley Dupré, the hooker who cost Eliot Spitzer his job? Seems awhile back radio station WZ100 in New York played one of Ashley’s songs, “What We Want” and called it a “surprisingly good song”. Tom Poleman, SVP of programming, said, “Looks like she have have a new career – this time in music.”

Ashely, 23 years old, talked to People mag recently about her sordid experience with the former governor. She claims she didn’t even know who Spitzer was in 2004. She remember he wasn’t interested in small talk and acted “polite”. According to Ashley, “Some guys they want to have conversations and really get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more of a transaction. Strictly business.”

When news came out about who Spitzer was, Ashley felt like she was “sinking”. The former call girl said she would say to Silda, Spitzer’s wife, “I’m sorry for your pain.” Apparently Ashley turned to a life of prostitution after leaving a suburban home and getting into a partying lifestyle. “This wasn’t any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them. The only difference is I can pay my rent.” Seems Ashley may be doing more than just paying her rent these days, thanks to the Spitzer scandal…

Apparently Jennifer Garner had to get a court order to protect herself and her family from a man she believes is endangering all of them. Court documents require Steven Burky to stay away from Jennifer and make absolutely no contact with her. In a declaration, Jennifer said, “Mr. Burky has been stalking and harassing me”

Seems he sent packages and letters filled with delusional and paranoid thoughts. Burkey also followed the object of his obsession around the country, harassing her since 2002. For the past year she claimed “his obsessive and harassing behavior has escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening.”

Garner said Burky showed up at her house saying, “God has sent him a vision of her being persecuted in some manner that may result in her death.” Jennifer is afraid for herself, hubby Ben Affleck and little girl Violet. She is also pregger and fears for the safety of her yet unborn child. The LAPD was actively involved and took the case quite seriously.

Which reality television mogul was brave enough to publicly diss a bad boy rapper like 50 Cent? None other than Donald Trump, an outspoken mogul who also had plenty to say about P. Diddy.

Seems 50 Cent is planning his own new reality show ‘50 Cent: The Money and The Power”. During a recent interview, Trump talked about all the recent hip-hop sin-offs of the ‘Apprentice’.

According to the Don, “I’m in many, many rappers songs. And I know them. 50 Cent is sort of a friend of mine. I mean, he likes me. He just did a show. It was a copy of ‘The Apprentice.’”

Wonder if 50 Cent will still like Don after his comments? The 62 year old Trump thinks 50 Cent’s reality show will fail. “It will fail because he’s not Trump, but he’s actually a nice guy. And P. Diddy did a show which, by the way, I think bombed, but it was a copy. I wrote him a little note, ‘Good luck with the copy.’”

Good thing Don’s got a lot of dough - it’ll pay for plenty of protection when he makes these kind of comments…
